This year's St. Patrick's Day will be more of an at-home celebration, but you can still enjoy a festive pint of Guinness from the comfort of your own home! But how can you properly pour this renowned stout from a can? The perfect pour on draft is part show, with the famed six-stage process, but the canned result is a little different. Each can has a nitrogen-filled widget, which unleashes a wave of bubbles when you split open a cold can, replicating a draft pint.
So, how do you go about doing it? Begin with a cold can of beer and a fresh pint glass (bonus points to those with proper Guinness glasses). Pour the contents of your can onto a level surface after around 5 seconds (allowing the nitrogen time to surge into your beer). Begin pouring by tilting the glass at a 45-degree angle. Straighten the glass and complete your pour when the stout is approximately 2 inches from the rim. This will result in the well-known creamy Guinness head. Enjoy!
